Animal not giving Birth

Postby Lunarius_Haberdash » Mon Mar 04, 2019 7:13 pm

All three of my ewes were knocked up within 24 hours of each other... One of them has already given birth, one of them is no longer pregnant, one of them is STILL pregnant. I have one ram lamb to show for it.

I know I'm not the only one to experience this phenomena (At least the extended birthing time). Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Well most pregnancies end in miscarriages.

They are tired of travelling.
Give a man a game engine and he delivers a game. Teach a man how to make a game engine and he never delivers anything.

Hard to debug after the fact. Some chance of player error.

That sux. :(

And to add to confusion I am sure it's not easily reproducible as I have all tamable animal kinds give birth this world... Do you know for certain how many days they are pregnant though? "About two weeks" might be 8-10 days and that I think happens sometimes.

Well, according to the wiki: "...After being impregnated they give birth to a lamb in 4.5 days..." :\ In any case, the sheep was pregnant before the creation of this topic (that is, more than 8 days).

I guess the answer is "no", but just checking the obvious possibilities - are there any other players involved? Could it be that sheep gave birth and "something" happened to the offspring while sheep got pregnant again?

It's impossible... However, if the AI of the sheep is quite complex and they are able to make duplicate keys and leave to give birth outside the palisade, while the player is offline, and then return...
