clarification about inheritance

sooo, i died and my body and head were lost at sea, somehow i still have 45 percent of my ancestors stats, is this normal? i am happy and all I just want to make sure its not a bug. According to ring of brodgar unless its buried or I have a state funeral(which i HIGHLY doubt happened) its supposed to be 15 percent............Burial at sea?
