Most of the sausages don't list Meat as a satiation.

Most of the sausages don't list Meat as a satiation.

Like the title says, "Chicken Chorizo", "Elk Dog", "Glazed Grazier Dog", "Delicious Deer Dog", ect.

All these sausages satiate the Meat category, but none of them have it listed in their tool tips.

"Big Bear Banger", "Cow Chorizo", "Wonderful Wilderness Wurst" has it listed.

The listed satiations in the tooltip are what that food item satiates.
The satiations that highlight in the Food Satiations menu are what affect that food. They do not always overlap completely with the food's potential satiation candidates.

For example, piglet wursts only list sausage as what they can satiate, and by eating a whole cupboard I see that I only satiate sausage in the process.

You owe me salt now.

Okay, so the bug is "Meat gets highlighted by some sausages in the Food Satiation's list even though they don't actually satiate the Meat category."

There's no reason for them it to highlighted if Meat isn't going to be satiated by them, it's just confusing and uninformative.

No, they're highlighted because they affect the %fep's gained from eating that food item. Meat satiation affects how much feps you get from the sausage, so it's highlighted. But those certain sausages DON'T satiation meat, so they're not in the tooltip.

Check the changelog for relative information in the food category: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=62967#p799543

1. jorb did say at the beginning of the world that most food only only belongs to one food category, and generally only satiate the food to which it belongs. This does not mean all food, though.
2. The food only looks at the highest value for reduction of FEPs, so if meat is at 60, and sausage is at 20, you only get hit for the one with a bigger penalty.

I believe at one point jorb said that if anyone sees any inconsistencies to point them out, however I'm not sure "meat" and "sausage" would be an inconsistency.

Is it a straightforward system? No, and maybe it should be. It does show you what it is affected by if you have your character sheet open to attributes and keep your eye on it. Having such information on the recipe or food tooltip would be much more user friendly.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

The obvious solution would be to have "Satiates: xxx and yyy, Affected by: xxx and zzz" in the tooltip, but when did this game ever cared for obvious solutions? Also, who needs those walls of text.

The real bug here is that the meat category satiates sausage when we already explicitly have a sausage category.
