trying to use the JAR file, but gives an error, see below

Postby Sabouma79 » Fri Aug 09, 2019 12:40 am

the error I get is:

"Can't find the name of Intel ICD OpenGL driver"

My graphics card driver is up to date.

How do I resolve this?

The driver either didn't install correctly, or the driver isn't "recognized" by Windows properly. You can try rolling back to an older version or uninstalling and manually reinstalling the graphics drivers.

Specific information about the computer, Windows, and driver version is needed to provide more detailed information and what driver to get.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

How is this possible? I always use Geforce Experience to install my graphics drivers (and never have issues with them), and I always choose a clean install....

Prolly you got an Intel CPU (with internal GPU) and a Nvidia Graphic card (dedicated GPU) ...

Intel ICD OpenGL driver
is surely not pointing to your Nvidia graphics ... if PC disable CPU internal graphics (Intel) in Bios or set PCIe as priority ... if Notebook check for Optimus settings in Bios ... your energy saving settings also might play a role ... some Notebooks even don't run on dedicated Nvidia when in powersave modus and running on battery ... then it even doesn't matter that you're always on latest Nvidia drivers ...

and as MagicMan said
Specific information about the computer, Windows version is needed to provide more detailed information

Won't hurt to update the Intel graphic drivers anyways - use autorecognition

Java 8 - manually downloads - good to check for actual versions url here:

Just ran the Assistant, it said: Sorry, no software updates are available.

so I am thinking it's not my PC that's the issue

dank u wel :)

I wonder why Java thinks it should use the Intel and not Nvidia ?!? :o

If you like to help to solve it you'd have to check your Bios settings please - Chipset-Internal Graphics to disable (see below)

If it's too much hazzle right now you'd better run Amber custom client for now - unpack to own folder - doubleclick run.bat
https://github.com/romovs/amber/release ... 1.71.0.zip
thread
viewtopic.php?f=49&t=40400#p534253

report back please

Code: Select all
Bios
 -> Peripherals
    -> Initial Display Output

        -> PCIe 1 Slot (default)

-> Chipset
    -> Internal Graphics

Enable, Disable, Auto (default)

This is the latest Intel graphics driver for your CPU (in case you'd want to install it)

I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna mess around with my BIOS, I have too little knowledge about that.

If it has to be this difficult to play a game, no thanks....
