I think it may have sunk into the ocean on account of the springtime.

Huh? Does spring raise the water levels?

The only problem i see is that the cave entrance is in a lake in the none deep water it was available all winter time. i'm far from the ocean.

No, but I've a feeling the existence of cave tiles over water like that is an artifact of world generation. The tile conversion destroyed the entrance, same way it has destroyed docks.

I'll take a somewhat random stab--it's gone. Anyone that relies on this will need to make a minehole to get back in, or find another nearby cave that connects (or dig a connection).

Which would be highly annoying for anyone who hunked down in a water cave, like (IIRC) jorb did last world...
