Annoying grass from nowhere

The worst monsters in the Hearthlands warp the fabric of space and time...

Annoying grass from nowhere

Postby Enjoyment_2 » Fri Oct 11, 2019 2:27 pm

Every time I come into my tree-farm I see those ugly grass tiles poping up here and there, damaging my hardly cultivated forest biomes...
This issue exist from anicent times and nothing had done to it yet. Highly annoying and very unpleasant.
Please, fix

That's what happens when there isn't a tree around.
Plant them so they cover the area, stomp that grass to dirt to keep it from spreading.

are you sure that this is the only condition which makes this happen?

Forest won't spread unless trees are growing. If there isn't a tree within a distance, tiles have a chance to change to grass. I've never checked the bounds of that distance (somewhere between 5 and 10 tiles would be my best guess).

okay, but does this mean that the original tiles can't degrade into the grass tiles regardless, if there's for example a pavement around an area with original tiles of the biome? or maybe the kind of the tree also has something to do about that(is every kind of a tree going to support the original tiles?) because I might have seen something like that, I'm just unsure if I remember correctly

No tree around = forest biome turns to grass.

That's how it works.

Yup, since legacy every tree creates 20 tiles square that saves from grass sowing.

without providing a screenshot all i can say is bullshit and you have too large spread between trees to keep terrain out of changing.

Do you guys know that grass patches can appear even beyond world borders?

Those borders are there just as a player hindrance. All visible parts of the world are fully active. (Just wait till you see that rare spawn sitting just out of reach beyond the invisible border.)
