Studying not happening while character is logged off

Last night I put a cone cow into the study report area of a new character. When I logged in again this morning it still had seventeen minutes to go and none of the other objects in the study area had been completed either.

Note that I am not talking about the character's desk, but the study area reached through the Character Sheet interface.

Same thing happened to this character the previous time I logged out, and to a different new character last week.

Is this a known bug?

Are you sure that you're not just seeing the fact that the study was refilled with another cone cow from the desk? Looking at the logs of when you logged in just prior to your post, a cone cow finished studying exactly the moment of that login, which should imply that whatever conecow you saw right thereafter should have come from a study desk.

Characters had no desks as they were new. I think noindyfikator had it - they were so new they hadn't manged to get enough points to actually study the items.

Normally, that would prevent you from beginning to study them to begin with, though.
