Okay, so I did some more tests:
char a
char b
char c
Situation 1
a has opened a wardrobe. b lifts said wardrobe.
a can operate this wardrobe as if it was still there.
Situation 2
a has opened a wardrobe. b lifts said wardrobe and places it down on a different spot. c opens the wardrobe.
--> a can operate this wardrobe as if it was still there.
--> c can operate this wardrobe.
b lifts the wardrobe and places it down on a different spot after which he opens it.
--> a, b, c can all operate this wardrobe as if it was still there.
Situation 3
a and b are in the cellar of a house and c is on the first floor. a opens a wardrobe. b lifts said wardrobe and puts it down on the first floor. c opens the wardrobe.
--> a can operate this wardrobe as if it was still there.
--> c can operate this wardrobe.
b lifts the wardrobe, goes to the second floor and puts it down. b opens the wardrobe.
--> a, b, c can all operate this wardrobe as if it was still there.
Situation 4
a and b are in a house. a opens a wardrobe. b lifts said wardrobe and leaves the house.
--> wardrobe window closes for a at the moment b exits the house and hence is no longer able to access this wardrobe.
Situation 5
a and b are on the surface. a opens a wardrobe. b lifts said wardrobe and enters a cave/mine.
--> wardrobe window closes for a at the moment b enters the cave/mine and hence is no longer able to access this wardrobe.
Situation 6
a and b are in an ambiguous cave level. a opens a wardrobe. b lifts said wardrobe and moves to a different but still ambiguous cave level.
--> wardrobe window closes for a at the moment b leaves the ambiguous cave level a is on, and hence is no longer able to access this wardrobe.
Situation 7
a and b are on the surface. a opens a wardrobe. b lifts said wardrobe and heads of to that direction.
--> a can operate this wardrobe as if it was still there no matter how far b travels. *
b meets c. b places the wardrobe down. c opens the wardrobe.
--> a and c can both operate the wardrobe
Situation 8
a opens a wardrobe. b lifts said wardrobe and places it in a boat.
--> wardrobe window closes for a at the moment b places the wardrobe in the boat and hence is no longer able to access this wardrobe.
Situation 9
a opens a wardrobe. b lifts said wardrobe and travels to he's hearth fire which is located in the same plane** as a.
--> a can operate this wardrobe as if it was still there.
*can only vouch for a distance of 2000~ tiles, since I traveled by horseback and met moisture.
**I define plane in this context to be an area in which this wardrobe bug works. two examples: cave layer one, a house
Hmm.. I wonder if all houses are in the same plane... can't bother to test it of course, because I would have to build a new hearth fire and that, is simply too much.
I also ponder, if wardrobes are seen carried in the coming meteor fights... Well that most likely won't touch me.
