Can't put caverat carcass in snekkja

I have space and can lift the rat but can't put it in my boat. I'm fairly sure this isn't intended seeing that I can put multiple bears and boulders in it so a big rat shouldn't be a problem. If I try to place it through the minimap I get the message "You cannot place that there".
