Water of absurdly high quality

Postby Erevan » Sat Jan 13, 2024 12:29 pm

A friend managed to collect water with a quality of 178 somewhere. It was not far from our base, but we have the water quality researched and the water quality is nowhere higher than 40. I understand that it will probably be difficult to detect, but is it a bug or it can happen, that the water is of such high quality in a single place, when the surrounding water is of much lower quality?

Water quality from open-water (River, lake, Ocean, etc) is hard-capped by survival. But only down to a minimum quality of 10. (unlike water drawn from a wellspring, which don't enforces such minimum. Or a well, which has no active soft- or hard-capping.)

Your friend needs to upgrade his survival. Base q of water after last „bug fix” is 250.

I missed that topic about +q250 water. You can close this as solved. Thanks.

@devs please maybe when making such changes send a popup to all clients when they first log in, or at least add a MOTD in system log. like when you return to warcraft after a lengthy period, there will be popup describing all current content
every day some people ask this question on realm chat, it feels like majority of players dont read forums often

Same here, just created a Well on my base, no magic to dig deeper or anything and it's q260:

Survival hardcap is not applied when you take water from a well.

Wells built before the water quality change will have the old quality. Wells built after the water quality update seem to have minimum water quality of 260. (Unless me and finamore both built a well on a spot that used to be 20 and the real floor is 250.)
