Cannot connect to world 16.1

Hello!

I have been experiencing a strange problem with world 16.1!
I cannot seem to be able to connect to world. When I create a character, I am given the ability to go through the usual character creation process - that is, moving around as the wisp, naming, etc.
However, when I burn into the world after choosing 16.1, I am given a "connecting" popup, which after 10 seconds gives me a "failed to connect" before I am kicked back to the character select screen. Selecting that character will thereafter give me the same popups.

My characters on world 16 do not have this problem, nor do I face this issue when creating a new character and selecting world 16.
I am playing through steam, and have a completely fresh install (which I've also verified). I have tried using the default client as well as ender, so it isn't on that end!
I'm at a bit of a loss, any help would be great!

I really hate to double post, but this problem is driving me crazy.

For some reason, no matter how many times files are verified, reinstalled, no matter what client is used (default or otherwise), I cannot at all connect to world 16.1.
Java is updated, drivers are updated, java cache is all cleared up, and I have 200+mb/s internet speed. There is no diagnosable issues that would prevent me from getting in game, unless Im missing something here.
Is anyone else at all having this problem? It's super weird, and I am slowly sinking into insanity the more I try to troubleshoot this.

To make matters worse, the second I try world 16, I'm in instantly.

For anyone else who might have this issue (and for posterity), avast's firewall is total buns and was blocking the connection for some reason. Cheers!

I simply can't log into the game after logging out this afternoon.
I can't log in to either 16 or 16.1.
The situation isn't the same as in the summer. In June, I couldn't log in or access the character selection menu.
Now I can't log into the server by pressing the play button under any of my characters. After I press play, nothing happens.
I also can't download the official client or update the old version from the website, so I can't say if this problem also affects the regular client.
The forum is also very slow, and pages don't always load.

Why is the location issue my problem, especially since there were no location issues until mid-December 12th? If it's a problem with my location, just write that the game doesn't support regions. You don't even need to specify the reason—I'll just know this game isn't for me.

Bro, if you are russian - then it is a location problem.
Я тоже из России, и как раз 12 декабря у меня перестала запускаться игра. Причем даже впн не помогает, добавил адреса игры в запрет - начал доходить до выбора персонажа, дальше никак. Скорее всего очередная волна запретов пошла и игра попала под обстрел. Либо кто-то разберется какой айпи у 16.1 мира, хотя у меня и в 16 не заходит, либо РКН откатят баны серверов.

Если на персонажа не заходит, создай/зайди на чара на в16, и после на в16.1.
Сущесвует проблема медленного отклика от сервера во время отдачи res файлов. Т.е. если у вас нет кеша ресурса, он будет у вас грузится секунд 30. Это относится не только к айтемам в инвентарях, но и к гобам.
