While figuring out how the combat system works, I wondered what would happen if I had two weapons of the same type(edged/pointed/axe) equipped in each hand.
So, I decided to test it out.
Setup: Shitty ceramic knife in right hand, quality sword in left
Animation: shows attacking with right hand, which is completely empty(but should have a knife), whilst the sword is dangling in off-hand
Damage: good
--- Swap hands ---
Animation now shows poking enemy with a sword but the damage is turned to shit
--- Swap hands again ---
Damage is still shit
--- Unequip ceramic knife ---
Damage now good
--- Equip sword right hand, knife left ---
Damage is shit again
--- Unequip knife mid-combat ---
Damage comes back again
--- Try the same with low q stone axe ---
Raven's bite uses axe's damage, and so does chop and full circle.
So it seems like it simply uses the order at which items were equipped. This is a bit dumb. So if you were out with your sword, decided to chop tree, you can get absolutely butt-fucked if attacked, even though visually everything looks fine, character has weapon, and the off-hand tool is invisible, while shouldnt've been used in the first place.
Really should use the most damaging weapon equipped, or, at the very least, prioritize right hand over left. But not the quality one, please, that'd be even worse.
