Hibernation for livestock

Postby Potjeh » Sat Feb 06, 2016 9:43 am

So, now that thanks to incoming caps we'll be able to take breaks from the game without falling behind, there's one thing left forcing us to log in even when we don't feel like playing: feeding livestock. I think allowing people to take break from that as well would reduce burnout significantly, so I think it'd be good if it was possible to "pause" one's animals, ie they stop eating but also stop reproducing and giving any products. When you get back from your vacation you just wake them up and keep going from where you left off. Cosmetically I guess it'd be nice if this worked by storing the animals in a barn or something like that.

Yupp. No contest.

I think it would be excellent idea.
There could be minium time that you can put them on hibernation mode to avoid abuse.
For example 3 days?

doesn't hitching it to a wagon basically do that for you already? could it work off of the stasis they enter when hitched to a wagon perhaps?

As I go away for 3/4 wks every year this would be a livestock life save for me, just pls make sure it includes chickens ... I am so fed up of returning each time to a coop of dead chickens because my rl friends don't game and don't think it's important to log on and feed them for me!

Do you realize this is one of those rare threads where everyone agrees with something? :D
