Stone is by far more durable. Brick is easier to make but less durable. As an example the ancient stone fortress wall of Dubrovnik survived modern artillery shells in the breakup of Yugoslavia.

Yeah, stone walls, if done properly, should be more durable.

Idk about the shooting from walls idea, sounds like a good thing if it could be implemented. It would surely add more to the defenses of a village. Also I can see this scenario unfolding:

That goes back to stone just being better unfortunately. Ultimately if we have a higher soak wall, it'll become the most used unless the entire siege system gets reworked somehow.
