Fast traval to kin

I've read a few threads about "fast travel" and it usually boils down to it's not going to happen to prevent people from abusing alts. However that punishes people that don't use alts; right now I'm about 4 hours in a ~12 hour walk to get my wife's character to my character. She was all ready to play this game with me until I told her how long she'd have to walk to get to me; the only way I could convince her was to tell her I'd get her character to mine. As far as that's concerned I don't mind too much but what if I talk someone else into playing. I sure as hell ain't going to do it a 3rd or 4th time, the only reason I'm doing it a 2nd time is because it's for my wife.

I understand that you want to hamper people abusing alts but you're also hampering legitimate players and quite frankly, that's bullshit. I'm not going to be able to talk anyone into making that trek and my little area isn't going to grow because of it with exception to the possible random passerby and there's no guarantee that a random person will join us or that either my wife or myself would like having that person around.

Again I understand why there isn't fast travel to kin, but that doesn't justify punishing legitimate players. So please, let fast travel to kin happen, even if it is just to the claim that'll suit me just fine.

I always thought that we should be able to issue one teleport every X months and/or with X resources to deal with this problem. Having straightup unlimited teleports is a bad idea however and there was a legitimate reason why it was removed.

You did know that there is no TP and you made your home 12h from spawn ?
The place 6h from spawn was not nice enough ?
I live less than 1h from spawn and its a desert.

I do agree being able to teleport wherever whenever is a bad idea which is why I suggested the claim; but then that's flawed as claims aren't hard to come by. Your idea however, is much better than mine.

Yes I did know that and no, the place 6h from spawn was not nice enough. I stopped quite a few times to set up a base along the way and each time I found a village not too far away and being this isn't my first rodeo with H&H I wanted to make sure I was as far away from griefers as possible. Granted when I set out at first I planned on being a hermit but plans change and here I am contemplating trying to get friends into the game and yet there your smart ass is trying to dissuade me; though to be frank, I'm not surprised some jackass like you showed up.

Sure it is, everything inside 4 hours from spawn is boulderless and treeless area with lots of abandoned and active places.

No... Teleportation should be removed in its entirety, from roads to hearthing home.

Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

They tried that in salem, actually had a lot of negative effects. Travelling/foraging got significantly shittier because return tripping closed the area you'd travel down to very small regions.

It did nothing but hurt the game.

It would cut the current trickle of a trade to zero. I'd rather have more mechanics like roads that would work on longer distances without having to build a shitload of roadsigns. Maybe some kind of waterways that would use boats, or (upcoming) longships.

That is only true if you walk in circles at crawl speed while carrying a boat with 2 containers in it. Aka bold faced lie. The spawn area is at most 2 hours and even then it's not exactly clear cut. The stones I'd give you that one but just find a mountain and dig.
