Bridges

As the title says. Players who have learned advanced skills could be able to build bridges to cross small rivers. It would require lot of ressource but would be very sturdy. Perharps two kind of bridges? One could be a simple wooden bridge for a person. Other could be a stone bridge big enough for carts and other "vehicules"

i'd rather be able to fill water patches to create a dirt bridge i would seriously level a mountain just for a tiny bridge

Correct me if Im wrong, but jorb has stated that bridge mechanics are simply not possible at the moment.

You can build a signpost trail over a river, this will limit the kind of items you are able to list while traveling (boat) and you might need to turn swimming on.

What if we had to build two bridge ends on either side of the river and then build the actual bridge part between, the way gates and cornerposts work? I can't see how stone/wood bridges wouldn't work this way

Building bridges is technically impossible for now coz 2 things cant be in same place etc

(Back in legacy we could stack rafts next to each other to get a brige asfair)

The tile doesn't have to be programmed to allow 2 items in each tile. The graphics and the mechanics could be separate. The tile having the flag of water/bridge allowing both land units to treat it as land and boats to treat it as water. Allowing a bridge to have a boat travel under while someone stands on the tile isn't that important. The bridge could even be designed that they prevent boat traffic, more like a land bridge with water channel under it.

Another option I would want is for wagons/carts to be able to traverse shallow river tiles. This would require separate river/lake shallow water and probably would need to be built into the map generator.

Being able to terraform shallow water is another option, to connect lakes that are separated by 2 or 3 land tiles, or to extend land slightly out into a lake.
