First two days of play

Postby cinnamonstyck » Sun Feb 21, 2016 12:31 am

My husband and son have been playing this game for a while, so when it rebooted I decided to come and play, too.

We made a party, and I set out toward their arrows. Three miserable straight hours of walking later, I found myself trapped on a peninsula and I was eaten by an animal.

I logged in and made a new toon an hour and a half ago. We made a party, and again I set out toward their arrows. An hour and a half of straight walking later, I am so frustrated that I'm ready to quit and never play this game again.

My husband said I should post on the forum about my experience. My god, can we not get a one-time teleport to friends? It's ridiculous!

This feature really ought to have better visibility. Jorftar please add it to the first quest as an alternative way of starting.

OP I'm sorry you've had such a rough time!

+1, a quest should be made about it.

It is not self-evident that this teleportation technique does exist!

And speaking of quests, please remove "Restore energy to full by eating" from Something to Eat, because it encourages noobs to destroy their Ravenous bonus.

I'm sorry for your experience. You're able to build a Wilderness Beacon, which allows your family to create one character at the place of your choice.

As mentioned above, the game does not make it clear that this feature exists. Or that any other, to be honest. One person I invited quit early on for the same reason, he couldn't understand how the game worked.

that is the nature of this game, it is not meant to be newbie friendly

but yeah, you clearly missed the wilderness beacon update

I don't think this is true, Jorftar have just not prioritized it.

I'm not sure a quest needs to be created for this. Not everyone is going to spawn alts or even play with friends. Perhaps an experience that appears after completing the beginners' quests, or after fulfilling the build requirements, hinting at the nature of the wilderness beacon would be the proper thing. Some flowery text about the wilderness being a harsh and lonely place, whatever else, and that a wilderness beacon could attract like-minded individuals.
