Ovens should need to be fired for a while to heat up (like fireplace), then it should be possible to do multiple bakings using the stored heat.
Smelters are also quite unrealistic and boring currently, adding a stage to the mechanic where you deal with fluid metal could be fun and would also be a good opportunity to introduce a finer granularity to ore yields.

You are free to not count fuel and take out baked goods just in time. The point of counting is to distinguish between baking for ash and baking for actual food. Making it harder to make not burnt pies will suck. There is also point of fuel saving. So no, what you are suggesting is more tedious mechanics. And do not forget about bot argument.

Interestingly, Salem has WASD movement and one person I tried to convert to Hafen said "nope" after discovering Hafen doesn't have it. Main problem is that it interferes with adventure/crafting menus.
The most actively maintained Haven and Hearth Wiki (Not guaranteed to be up-to-date with all w14 changes.)

Basic Claim Safety (And what you’re doing wrong) (I recommend you read it in it's entirety, but TL:;DR: Build a Palisade.)

Combat Guide (Overview, PVE, PVP) (Tells you how to try and escape, and make it less likely to die when caught.)

Crafting selection should be replaced with something better anyway, see viewtopic.php?p=737729#p737729 and following.

- "Hardware cursor" option for those using Linux.
- Remembering multiple accounts - displayed as a list of available accounts.
- Bars instead of translucent overlay on item progress (curio, eggs, pottery, etc) - better readability

What others pointed out:
- Free camera
- Show quality
- grid
- remembering charterstone names (maybe server-side)

Interaction with stockpiles shouldnt be such a chore. there should be way to take a desired number and to drop off all pick up all.
Cheese production should include percentage to completion to the next level.
Being able to lock windows and resize as wanted.
keys beimg able to be remapped.

Show quality has been in the default client for a long time. You'll find it under the Toggles menu.

Clearly some had no clue that this exists... What about a manual?

Given that you don't look through the menus, how would a manual help?

I'm not opposed to some sort of info-screen system like we had in Salem.

It is rounded to integer while real quality has tenths. Is it intentional to make people look closer at items to see exact quality?
