Why not, the trees could have bee hives in them which you could get wax from, maybe add a "raid" option where the bees would attack you, but you can get wild beeswax (maybe make it give a special recipe separate from farmed wax)

Now that we have better performance with the client this could actually happen, more data could be sent to the client so one could see farther away when he climbs a tree.
