Combat changes

A change to the combat system where you pick 3 defensive stances to start out with, that way it gives you a chance while fighting to not loose hp instantly- let's say I meet someone and aggro them, without having any moves they would be able to have 3 defensive cards primed......thoughts?

I think there should be two builds that you can always have loaded at one time. One for PvE that activates when you engage an enemy NPC or they engage you and one for players that would work the same.

I don't know if something like that would be possible but it makes sense to do because if they aren't going to allow switching schools while in combat there still needs to be some way to not totally screw players if they get in to a combat situation they aren't fully prepared for.

We have considered similar things, and something like that may happen.

Ehn, still incredibly easy to wait for more UA/agi and just brute force it with a basic 5 move school :P

Rue the day that IP attacks start wrecking you, son
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

I'm not a pvper, never will be. I won't put the training time or FEPs into combat stats to have a chance at fighting someone. Plus I'm basically a hermit. I can bruteforce animals and otherwise disengage from combat. Trying to defend myself is near certain death against anyone competent, I've made friends with combat types and know they will always wreck me. Against someone not competent brute force defense if I get cornered is good enough since I'm likely going to die anyway.

Thinking otherwise is just self delusion.

I meant luring them with a clover. It has a chance to become hostile as it's running around you. Pretty painful if it happens when it's 2 tiles away and instantly uses some attack move before you have a chance to put some defense up ^^

XD ouch. Don't see how that's a big deal though since my combat school has 3 defenses up constantly. I use a 5 move school, so there's no variation in what appears. Then it just comes down to reaction time.

That being said I've long argued that players should have a 5 or 10 second omni style grace block (weighted with UA or MC, whichever's higher) that pops up to prevent sucker punches like that.
