Scholar's Garb (Study Expansion Equipment)

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

Scholar's Garb (Study Expansion Equipment)

Postby endiron » Fri Sep 25, 2015 7:09 pm

As much as we all love playing study Tetris, there may be a solution to open up the interface a bit more.

Scholar's clothing -- a wizardly looking hat and vestement that would expand the study interface vertically (robes) and horizontally (hat) by 1 row.

The benefits are obvious, and the cost would be silk as well as some other sort of material, as well as a couple inventory slots that could otherwise be used for different equipment.

Thoughts or ideas?

Thanks for reading & all the best!

I love the concept, but my main issue is that tying equipment to study/mental weight has been a bit of a pain in the past. Which is kind of a shame but alas.

The neat part here is this concept is a way to extend our LP gain (which everyone has noted feels a little too slow) and increases the range of useful curios since we'll have more slots to fill.

Ehn ok I'm gonna say I like it anyway. Warriors are gonna be grumpy though if it takes up a combat slot XD

+1 make it take up head slot, chest slot, robe slot and pants slot. and you cant take it off while those rows are full.

I believe that sacrificing your potential attribute buffs and battle-readiness in favor of a lot more studying space is a good trade-off.

re:maze, about not being able to remove it while those slots are filled -- I think either that or dumping them back into your inventory (and subsequently the ground if your inventory is full) would be a good solution for taking it off

Definitely. No more of this equipment juggling crap. If you want the benefit wear the clothes.

Alternatively, if you can take off the robes, those study slots just freeze and stop progressing. This makes doing so easy, convenient, but you still need the clothes on to benefit from it. That way a warrior doesn't need to pluck stuff out of his mentory to get ready for battle.

i'd much rather keep it away from warriors.

other wise you'll just have PJ where you use em only when you log off and during the day you wear something else.

You're gonna get that either way, they'd throw them on to run <8hr curios or some such while they sleep. Warriors need both LP and equipment slots.

Rather than making them jump through hoops to use it, why not make it more convenient and admit it's the game that encourages warriors to need LP and they should at least be given fair access to it due to that.

The whole pausing curio study when the clothes aren't worn achieves what they'd get anyway, but is less hassle for them and convenient for anyone else using the item.

More mechanics to encourage alts that log on and do nothing? Please no.

How does the difference in the size of your mentory make alts better or worse...? This literally has no impact on alts.
