i'v no doubt that this has been suggested before but here's my take on it.
this is intended to be a middle ground between palisade and brick wall.
i want to be able to
1: reinforce an existing palisade segment by right clicking it selecting reinforce and using 1 bone glue 10 bones and one metal nugget of any kind (it should look like its been reinforced with shiny white bones). giving that segment 1500 more HP and 15 more soak (4,000 hp and 40 soak total)
2: reinforce the palisade from behind with 20 logs 2 leather and 5 rope. it should take up 2 tiles of space and look like diagnal blocks of wood are propping up the palisade. this would give that segment 1,000 more HP (these are destroyed when the palisade segment is)
3:defend the front with large wooden spikes taking up 2 tiles each. that come in 3 varieties. a plain wooden spike made with 20 logs 1 bone glue and 2 rope with 10 soak 500 HP and deals 1% of your soft HP in damage per tick when you destroy it. a bone tipped spike made with the above materials plus 5 bones, with 800 HP 15 soak and hits you for 2% of your soft HP when it is attacked. and an iron tipped wooden spike made with the wooden spikes materials plus 2 cast iron nuggets, with 1200 HP 25 soak and dealing 3% of your total soft HP per destroy tick. battering rams can destroy spikes without any harm coming to the rammer.
yes with everything the palisade with take up 5 tiles per segment and you cannot have spiked on the front AND back nor can you reinforce it on both sides. this is meant to help you last until you can obtain a brick wall.
too OP? too weak? better ideas? materials wrong? discuss.
edit: forgot this initially, but in the case of corners where reinforcements would overlap, you spent 3 times the materials to get a corner reinforcment that effects the cornerpost and the 2 segments next to it. in addition you can make a spike attached to a cornerpost at a diagnal angle.
