Variable amounts of liquids

Postby wolf1000wolf » Fri Mar 25, 2016 4:53 am

So was setting up a trade today and came across the problem that it wasn't possible to portion out vinegar in smaller amounts like 1L or 2L... Or at least, there wasn't a "Pour X amount" into another bucket option nor were clay jars acceptable.

Would like to see the ability or perhaps other containers.

Can you be splitting the stack size of stack item (e.g. farm seeds) arbitrarily? Both of these things should be with possibility, I think.

Its possible to split a stack of seeds by "X amount". Right click the seed and the option will pop up.

Would like a similar functionality for liquids somehow...

Though maybe this an immersive feature. It can be hard for a man to determine liquid sizes. Maybe some measuring spoon items can be made.

Could be useful, but I'm not sure how to implement it in a good way. Hold shift while pouring, perhaps.

We NEED this so we can add the right amount of milk to a curdling tub to clear out mixed milk in whole curds.

I accidently mixed milks so i have a useless 40 quality cheesetub.

Maybe a measuring cup item, right click it , flower menu asks if you want .01 or .10 per click mode. (Alternatively two size cups on .01 increments up to .1 , the other .10 increments up to .5 or 1.0), Right click on liquid source, each click add that much, up to .50 which would be full.

I need .06 more milk to make the last curd and clean out my tub. I dont even know how i got such a weird amount in there. I thought i had a cheese bug, cause all i got was generic gouda, turns out my tub got mixed, now i am down a tub, in a very non realistic way. IRL you just dump and clean the tub.

You could experiment with a smaller vessel and drinking.

Kind of piggybacking on a related topic to the thread, there should be a way to empty barrels without having to bucket out 10l at a time(if there is such a feature please let me know)

right clicking a barrel onto water fills the barrel, it should also be able to empty the barrel as well.

Actually, i messed up, i need .44 l added to make a full 2 l curd. Point stands, your useless "tip" led me on a wild goose chase, finding birchbark and all my cups laying around. thanks for nothing.

birchbark vessel sip is .05
wineglass sip is .05
wood cup sip is .05
canteen sip is .05

so far, i havent managed to find a "vessel" with a sip of .1. Do i build a drinking horn and test it, seems it will be .05 per sip as well.

how do I get .44 from any amounts of .05?

And why does a game, a game in which it matters to have .44 more milk, not have a way to meter out .44 of milk? Its an oversight, this thread is asking for it be corrected at some point in the future. That is all.
