Remove Name Pain of Hell Keys

Postby Ysh » Fri Apr 01, 2016 5:10 am

I have been in some situation like this:

1. Have some buildings that need protections.
2. Build some walls around those buildings.
3. Cannot move through the walls.
4. Built some gates to passage through the walls.
5. Cannot allow the ruffian to passage my gates.
6. Lock them, the gates with some keys.
7. Many gates must make many keys.
8. Name all the keys for their gates to stop some confusion.
9. The people will needing the enslaved keys to leave this fortified.
10. I will making some copies of these masters.
11. These enslaved keys all bear the name ''slave key'' despite having the named master.
12. I will redo typist techniques on each of the keys for the people to be without confusion.

I think making enslaved keys should take the names of their masters. This is with logic and saving me some troubled fingers.

its not that difficult to name the slave key the same as the master you realize that right? just remember which master key you used also. your not using different master keys for gates that all lead to the same place are you? you can use the same key for multiple gates.
Newbie and noob do not mean the same thing.

Neither do figuratively and literally.

The thing I think you are missing out on is that you can set multiple locks to the same master key. Then you don't need so many different keys

I did not know you can use the same key for many locks. This key can be quite a stud then! How can these be done? Even in this case though, I think the enslaved ones can still take the name of the master. There can be no reason for doing more typing.

I agree that slave keys should inherit the name. To key a new lock to an existing master key I think you just right click the master key on the new lock. It has been a while since I have needed to do it.

I can give this a try and be reporting back during tomorrow. Thanks to you both for this help, it can take away my pain by a bit.

he's right take the master key you want and right click it on a new lock. when you install this new lock you will not get a new master key. thats how you know it worked, however to install a new lock on an already locked gate, you must have the current master key for that gate in your inventory at the time you install the new one.

Thank you for some new details. I can be with confidence for these procedures. So much for the needing of a key ring. I will be a ring free man now.

Noone wants to remove renaming of keys, only that a copy (master or slave) inherits the name of the master has when created (instead of 'master|slave key').
