Lifting Saplings

Postby luan0bk » Sat Apr 02, 2016 3:25 am

I wonder if in the future it could be possible to lift tree saplings like we can do with bushes. It would be nice to be able to move them around while they're still in a smaller stage, for decoration purposes

I can misclick on my plantings sometimes. This can be good for me.

I wanted to have the freedom to place them like I do with objects or even bushes, rotate and move them with ctrl and shift. Simply planting them only gives me the position, and like Ysh said, most of the times it's not precise when you click the ground, since its bounds varies with the tree you're planting.

And since the tree's saplings are basically a smaller version of the grown one it becomes easy to picture how it'll look like later on.

While handy to relocate them within the base this would also allow stealing of saplings.

Yes it would, but if someone is stealing your saplings inside your base they might also steal everthing else.

Maybe they're hippies, completely against any other form of industrialized and strip mined / harvested resource in your base!

I do admit, rotating would be nice.

they can already chop the tree/sapling and if you have good quality why not build another wall such as palisade/brick around your nursery?

+1 for the lifting saplings

I recomend you to activate grinds to avoid that misclicking. You will see where you are planting them.

I do this, yes, along with some ''automagical tile centers clicked'' features in the amber clients. But I can forget to turn these things on. Not that this is much of the issue, given a tree will be lasting for only maybe a week. Thanks to you though for an assistance. I am only little bit shy, by the by.
