Tar and feather bucket

Postby basuranephilim » Sat Apr 02, 2016 1:01 pm

Craftable item:

Tar and Feathers
30 feathers
3l tar
1 bucket

Turns into tar and feather bucket.

Uses:
Can use on unconscious person, covers them in a black sticky substance and feathers. Making you very self conscious, stupid looking and the stickiness is debilitating.
Debuffs on nearly all stats, duration and strength determined by qualities of the Tar and Feathers bucket.

The idea behind this:
When there's trouble with villagers, enemy villages, people bothering you, or you just want to have a good laugh.
But you feel that killing them is too steep a price to pay for their stupid behavior or your giggles. Spite them by making them look stupid and take away some of their stats for a while.

Pros:
Adds flavor
Takes away some incentive to kill (this is a pro for people that would otherwise just have lost their char)
Gives players a way to punish people for stupid behavior, or have a laugh with some unwilling victims.
No direct fear of retribution due to lowered stats.
Possibility for dank in house memes.

Cons:
People whining on the forums that they're being tar and feather'd

Another novel idea, with some practical appliance.
Don't expect it to be high in the priorities, but it's an idea!

I have thought about tar and feathers but didn't come up with it giving stat penalty. I approve this idea.

Reek of smugness ?
Maybe not reek, but I figure somebody feathering somebody would be pretty damn smug about themselves.
A tange of smuckness? - Edit

Maybe send a vengeful chicken spirit after them ;)

Didn't specify nor hint at that in the post.
Ironically that you'd mention that they can't add new shit (a scent with a different name and colour) in a thread about an idea for adding new shit.

I'll humor the comment though:
Any one is fine then really. You've trespassed / stepped on, stolen and murdered some one's dignity.

It must be at least battery if you have a need to knock them out first. Murder is not should be spawned. So either just battery or some new smells between the two.

Tarring and feathering should be a thing one way or another.
