QoL: Charterstones Critique

Postby LadyGoo » Thu Apr 07, 2016 4:12 pm

The charter-stones have become exclusive for larger villages. The rest of the world do not have the access to them. Therefore, the trade is quite stale, since the majority of the potential buyers belong to the people who are local resources deprived. Therefore, I suggest to do the next:
1. Charter-stones can be built in any village for the W8 ingredients
2. Rock crystals are optional to be built in, like sketches in banners. However, the charter-stones that have rock crystals built in should not consume any travel weariness.

Therefore, the population will be able to socialize and visit trade ports and inns. At the same time, rock crystals will still be demanded, since travel wearness is very annoying and it takes 100+ charisma for 1 jump trough the map.

I think instant travels do not make some sense in a game like these. Even travels to the hearth fires is not sense, but I can see why it is needed to not be getting stuck or trapped.

I will be fine if the stones are removed as well, given they cannot be made by me anyway. Otherwise, yes, I think current items combination for making one is with a lot of expense. I only see some people sale these rocks for some $10USD, this is too high a price for me. They cannot serving their function if only the rich has them.

Edit: Another alternative is for leaving these stones as they are, but they are working only as a destination. A man can go to a charter from any p/v claim. This way us peasants do not get some abuse ability for teleport, but we can still get to the trading hubs.

I'm not convinced they shouldn't be around but as long as they are I do agree they shouldn't be so hard to obtain for smaller villages/factions. I know of several villages that have multiple charter stones already while many others don't even have one.

i like this option, charterstone should be about being a destination

I'd be fine with that too, the associated cost still sucks for visiting friends if neither of you have one though.

Charstone in village, HF in the mine, free teleport between both like HF and village in legacy.
If I remember right charstones were made to stop this abuse.

Alternatively, there can be different objects for the destinations ('destination stone') and the places to teleport from ('travel stone'). That way, most players should be able to teleport to destination stones if they invest some resources, but having people teleport to you would still remain expensive (perhaps then it could be made even more expensive than it is now).

What if we divided charter stones into two types? One could be village only members and the other open to anyone. Add in the limitations Goo's suggested I would think that fair. However I do think even the one with special resources should have TW, just less.
