Walls for water

More like low soak chains from cornerpost to cornerpost so that we can wall off water areas. We need some security for our ships.

I was actually thinking of something along the lines of being able to build walls and a 'harbor' gate in shallow water. If we added a harbor gate it would need to be able to allow rowboats, knarrs and ideally rafts through. Being able to terraform water into shallow water and vice versa would be great too but doesn't have to be an immediate addition.

I definitely think we need to be able to make 'harbors'. Another idea that I had was that we could make a hitching post for vehicles, be that a cart, rowboat, or Knarr. You could have it sort of look like a mine support piller and take some metal to create, and then chain your vehicles to it. Then you could plop one down on the shore and chain a Knarr to it and then you could use a lock on it and key just like a gate. Of course it would need to allow some range of at least a few tiles to not cause headaches but yeah.

I cannot wait for boatings to be worthless when all the men wall the waters.

No man can contain the wonders of the ocean. No walls can obstruct its glory.

Well, then maybe something like my idea? We could anchor boats to a pillar with a lock.

Some sort of hitching post or dry dock has to be the solutions I think. Boat having no clipping while hitched too, maybe. Knarr knarrt having security is pretty silly.

Yeah, I really want to build one this world, but I don't know if I want to invest the resources simply for someone to come onto the claim and steal it as soon as I'm away from it.

I did mention low soak and bwall cornerpost dependency.

Expensive low-soak high-HP chains that block ships but not rafts and maybe not boats seem to me the best idea if the devs are unwilling to implement mooring and anchoring features.

A large amount of my gameplay revolve around stealing boats from people. I often call myself the Boat Bandit in-game actually. I'd hate to see that ruined by such an update.

I personally think chains shouldn't block boats. The issue is with the ships really, they're too expensive for us to build one every three days or so.
