Un-Jesus-ify animals

Title says all. Please implement a swimming animation and slower speed for animals going over water. I can't count how many times I've lost an animal that I've beaten into submission just because they make a beeline for water and magically walk across it while I'm wading my way through it like an old man. I know this has been brought up before but it needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

Your main issue is that they stay at full-speed while in the shallows, then

Or do you also want them to swim deep water as well?
I would argue that swimming the deep water tiles would make them harder to catch on foot

You missed the "Un" in the title?

Un-Jesus-ify would mean that they move slowly in shallows and possibly through deep water without walking on top of it, which is what I'm talking about

This should certainly be done in one way or another.

What excactly is the problem with lowering down animals in water and reducing their speed, like it is done with hearthlings?

Can't quite recall. Probably that it'd imply some system to specify that per object, and that that is more complex than it might appear for some reason.

Jesus Animals?!

When do animals lose their mystical powers they've received from the dark gods that allows them to walk on shallow water? Rabbits, squirrels, hedgehogs, horses, boars, bears...all of these animals have some strange power that has yet to be harnessed through the power of hearth magic which allows them to inexplicably get away so long as they're close to a body of water because they'll always be faster than me while traveling over the ocean blue.
