Crossroads

Since we have the hearth magics and experience points, why not add crossroads that would allow you to teleport just like in legacy but with XP cost for tp?
XP cost for example is based on distance*charisma/2. I didn't think about a real formula.

Legacy crossroads are gone and that is a good thing.

I would even argue that charter stones are overpowered: they implement a 100% safe, uninterruptible way of teleportation.

yes that crossroads were 100% safe was a complaing, thats why u can now hinder road travel by putting shit in the way of the road (logs etc.). but to be fair road camping and crossroad camping has been very similar in terms of PvP and therefor didnt change much. The only thing it has done is making it way more annoying to travel over the world, and that is bad for both PvP and peaceful interactions (hence the re-add of charstones and the teleport-pads) so while at it, I just want crossroad or a similar system back.

It has to be casual friendly in the way crossroads were, this is not imortant for me. teleporting systems that are excluding ppl who cant get localized resources has always been very weird for me.

So in conclusion; we have had this road experiment for a while now, and it failed. In lack of a better suggestion I therefor suggest going back to CR-ystem thtat didnt cost localized resources.

Crossroads allowed access to the whole map within minutes, this basically reduced the active parts of the map to cities and maybe quality forage spots. Roads integrate the wilderness.

I can understand that you don't feel like erecting some since it is work and crossroads were lazy to build and maintain.

Lazyness is indeed a big factor, seeing how I am only playing about 2 hours a day some weeks due to IRL. It does not make your argument any stronger tho.
If anything it is to accomedate for my casual playstyle that I would like to see CR's comming back. Traveling for the sake of traveling is not fun gameplay for me (charstones helped a bit, but I still havent been to market so cant trade for example).

Easier travel really meant that the world was smaller, I could go places, trade with ppl, come over to someones town just to have a feast (havent happened in WOLRDS now), or go visit tournament at Dis jut to giggle at ppl nad have fun. With current travel system this hasnt happened for me once.

As for PvP, same thing, we could easily gather parties and go taunt opponents for not leaving walls and then go back to doing IRL stuff within 20 min. Havning to travel for hours to see that ppl are inside walls is not fun for me either.

A bit lazy of you to pull out the "lazy argument" if anything, and integrating with wilderness argument really falls flat if you hae working roads now don't it?

I don't really like the idea of unobstructed travel, but maybe more leninecy in terms of the current crossroads? I'd say that ignoring trees, stones and animals on the path could be a good start.
