On fallen logs + Rotten stumps

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

On fallen logs + Rotten stumps

Postby ricky » Sat Oct 15, 2016 7:24 pm

I personally think fallen logs + rotten stumps should contain goodies inside them.

have them start with 2-3 ants, grubs, mushrooms, or maybe some new rare items such as "mirkwood seedling" or "fetid fungus"
would add some variety to an otherwise boring set of objects, as well as give some fresh players something to eat besides nuts and berries.

and on a related note: I would like to see mirkwood planks added so we can make variable material constructions out of mirkwood. this is where 'mirkwood seedlings' would come in handy

Actually having random low-level crap spawn inside stumps is a neat idea, nobody uses them for anything otherwise.

In the interest of it not turning into Salem & Hearth, perhaps instead a mushroom could randomly spawn on the logs and stumps, something like this,

They could perhaps be a decent curio or a low-level PSY food or something. I think that would be an incentive to keep the logs around, anyway. They do look nice enough.

I thought about that, but I feel what would happen is people would collect hundreds of mirkwood logs and just start a mushroom farm. at least that's what I would do.

They should let log left out for too long turn to mirkwood, than you could chop it for higher q mirkwood (80 q log=80q Mirkwood log), than we could use it for something, idk maybe add termites and a termite farm to teach noobies stuff about farming?
Also we should be able to build ant farms (not the curio lol), too, it would be cool early game shit. Like you get a queen from a nest (Empress also works) and let it lay eggs, you could eat these eggs for psyche (albeit low amounts) or let them grow. once the nest starts growing you'll need to feed it shit and keep it clean by clearing out ants, eggs, new queens ready to leave, etc.
Suck me good and hard thru my jorts

I've thought about this before, but I think that only logs left on natural ground should turn to mirkwood. So logs would need to be stored on paved ground
