Mulberry Leaves Bag

Postby GrimReaper » Sun Oct 30, 2016 1:13 pm

It would be nice to get a wearable or inventory based storage bag for mulberry leaves. Anyone that deals with leaves knows that its super annoying running back and forth storing all these damn leaves. Basically the idea behind this is for something similar to a seedbag where it only stores leaves in a much larger quantity than having two traveler sacks and a merchant robe.

lets just redefine leaves as a liquid/powder so we can store them in buckets and barrels

"69kg of mulberry leaves"

This would certainly make collecting leaves easier, but it seems like an odd solution to the problem. Plus it would require a sericulture rework and maybe a special structure to feed silkworms in, which arguably needs to happen anyway.

Perhaps putting mulberry leaves into a bucket/barrel would turn them into a "silkworm feed" substance that could then be poured into a new structure similar to a chicken coop, but for silkworms. This would also allow you to tweak the number of leaves on a mulberry tree to 60 or so, but have each leaf provide enough feed for one silkworm. That way the leaves would be less tedious to collect and easier to transport.

The major reason why mulberry leaves collection is a pain is because you have to constantly run inside of a house and out with a wheelbarrow on your hands. I think, instead of asking for more bags, the core issue should be addressed. Same idea voiced here: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=45269

There should be structures dedicated to silkworms farming only and possible to build outside of a building / to be transported next to your mulberry trees plantations. Looks like a cheese tray, isn't it? Don't think it would be that hard to make trays for the silkworms only. Moreover, the silk-making could be made easier and more fun, as in:
the egg incubation and growth of the worms could be happening within the same tray. So you wouldn't have to constantly move them in and out from the herbalist tables. You should also be able to put the leaves into the trays beforehand, so when the eggs hatch, you don't have to be present.

Yes it is but redesigning it would make it so much better. Im honestly tired of 40 herb tables and 50 cupboards of bullshit.

I run 12 tables and well 16 cupboards, a silk cloth + spare threads twice a week does add up. Its just one basment of one of my mansions. But I know the right ratio that helps me be on past re mender to move the leaves and worms as needed.

But a village likely could use 2-5 people working silk at this level and all have fun, not one person burdened with the whole task.

But saying that I love it if silk working was closer to cheese making, I can take my trays to the trees fill them up, load on the eggs and let it rip.
