i was thinking when you right click an anvil an interface with an inventory slot would show up, and you can put a smithy hammer into it. If you do, the graphic of the anvil would change to show a hammer resting on top of the anvil. When you make a better hammer or anvil, you would take the hammer out and replace it.
So why bother?
- While the hammer is in the inventory slot, you would no longer need to have it equipped in your hand, so this reduces the amount of "inventory" juggling we need to do.
- Most of the time people have to go searching for the smithy hammer in chests beside the anvil, sometimes it gets misplaced
- Sometimes people forget to put the hammer back and log out with it
- Since the smithing hammer cant be used for anything other than smithing, it makes sense those objects were grouped together rather than kept seperatly
- i was also thinking that you might be able to set claim permissions so people can use the anvil, but not steal the hammer from it. although i haven't done any testing to see if trespass permission allows that to happen
This might allow you to add other smithy items, like tongs or shaping tools that would currently be to much to equipe with only 2 hands.
