Bark as roof material or Living Roofs

Postby Redkat » Tue Dec 06, 2016 8:21 pm

I love the various bark colours that have been added to the game - can we use that some more.

I am aware this is just a low decoration thingy, low on the list of priorities if Jorb even likes it, and probably not practical in the real world (but this is a game right).

1) Could we have roofs make of bark ? - particularly on the smaller buildings where we would be able to use bough anyway.

hmm another thing that is doable in the real world and i've even seen new buildings here with that sort of roof.

2) Living roof - growing stuff.

Dirt and seeds could be added when building, bark or bough/tarsticks - so people can choose which type to make. - or the roof grows like natural habitat area.

Can't possibly beat the bough roof look. They're atrocious, all of them.

Bark I think I could see. A "living roof" is kind of more a modern invention, or perhaps one that would work best in a new type of building - a turf house.

Actually they're not as modern as you'd think. Green or sod roofs were common during the Viking and middle ages.

...I seem to stand corrected, at least according to WikiPee.

And here I thought my ecology teacher was teaching us crazy modern stuff...

Those houses weren't good with rain though. Bugs and water seeped through.
