On the topic of quality balancing and Herbalist Tables

Postby ricky » Thu Dec 15, 2016 2:47 am

Im certain this will provoke the community as being brash and a step in the wrong direction, but I feel they should be expressed

Herbalist table:
Herbalist table shouldnt be quality factor for malted grain/tea/trees/etc. perhaps they should softcap these items quality, but certainly it should not affect its quality.
Because:
within two weeks of the release of wheat, there was already Q170+ wheat floating around the markets.
if you have good string (from farming or from hides) you can make a herb table vastly superior to your current board/block quality, allowing you to jump at least 10-15Q on trees

instead i suggest that, similar to drying frames, high Q herb tables speed the timeframes to dry/malt/hatch/grow items.

you can't make herb tables with string from hides. it requires plant fiber.

if you have q200+ sting you probably have good trees already, i don't think you understand how treeplanting works

Finer plant fiber, my bad.

And okay then, tell me: how does tree planting work? What critical element am I missing?

Treepots, water, mulch, tree seeds and a herbalist table.
Not sure what are you missing exactly since you didnt tell us what the problem was.

What determines something being too OP? Is being crucial/most important is OP? Then why don't you call anvils OP and suggest to nerf them as well?

The super high quality wheat floating around is only possible because it's so late in the world already. It's just the fruit of months of pushing flax/hemp quality

Don't you know, everyone else's hardwork should be penalized so I don't need to do it too.
