Buff drying rack speed when in radius X of a fire

If drying racks are close enough to a fire, for the sake of argument let's say radius 5-7, anything drying should get a slight buff to its drying speed. If the fire goes out, whatever's on there continues drying at the base rate. I'm not sure what a good rate buff would be--maybe max 15% faster than base?

Would be useful to keep fires burning at least semi-continuously near drying racks, and be another resource suck to balance it a bit.

Drying rack speed is already buffed by its quality for some unknown reason, as it dosn't seem to make much sense.

Softcapping hide quality would make more sense for drying racks - then speeding up with fire would be a realistic venue, maybe with a downside (drying quicker will reduce quality - the one before the softcap of the rack - or something).

You are dumb, your ideas are dumb.
Of course better quality drying rack works better, because you can stretch the thing tighter.

With your dumb logic everything in this game is work. Seeds just magically improve when you plant them? So does the wood?
Metal smelting is so unrealistic, animals are unrealistic, combat is unrealistic. Nothing makes sense. With your logic the whole game should be deleted

How would something being "tighter" make it dry any faster? There's already a maximum surface area. Putting the hide under more pressure wouldn't increase that. Stop flaming Granger.

I was literally just thinking of this.
Total misplay.

More surface area, more dry.
