Give spears some love

Aside from being throwable, spears are strictly inferior to swords and axes. Now, I don't mind that they have lower damage, but the list of attacks available to them is just sad. Edged weapons, and swords in particular, just have a lot more to choose from, and there's some good attacks there that spears just can't use. So I was thinking they need their own exclusive attacks, maybe something like a mini-cleave (same damage % as cleave, but base damage is lower with a spear) with a bit shorter cooldown, probably using green and red to synergize a bit with sting and because it's a fairly unused color combo. Alternatively, give us a spear-exclusive maneuver, or make Parry work better with spears (1.5 instead of 0.75 weight or something).

Make Spears a support class that creates more openings but has low damage. To supplement that if you switch weapons in combat you get 100% openings on every color, so people don't just switch from spear to b12.

Sword Shield is defensive, B12 is Offense, Spear is Support.

I could see spearman as a tank of sorts. Give it various maneuvers that create openings on opponent, so a spearman tries to draw aggro and then their swordsman buddy jumps in to capitalize. Their strength being in maneuvers rather than attacks would make them meaningfully different from swords and axes. I guess in PvP they'd be mostly group-oriented and their job would be to block opponents and handle being focused on better than other weapon users.

Spears should be one-handed, usable with shields, able to form some sort of phalanx defense that hits back when hit like a parry, and do more damage with worse range and accuracy than a bow.

or make accuracy scale with range, so when an animal starts running you just toss your spear at it and it gets rekt - improvess spears, solves hunting problems.

if you hit a spear strong enough, it should stick on the animal and make it run slower
