creates incentive for me to leave you alive. still leaves scents ppl can use to come to my base if they wanna fight me over KOing their friend and taking his gear. It's a very good idea.

Imo the nidbane system should be expanded into a whole industry of sorts. there Should be four different types of nidbanes for each scent, each with different skills and abilities. Each type should only be unlocked by certain skills.

I think "an eye for an eye" type of justice is the most fair in hnh. Only murder scents should result in murder nidbanes.

I'd just kill people with leeches

It's just not a good idea

"I'd use exploits" -JC, is that really a good counter argument to this grand idea? Pls try again.

How it is a grand idea?

Someone steals all your shit, destroys your palisade and hides in a vault 20 tiles from your walls, terraforms your freshly flattened land using vandalism, etc. and all you want to be able to do as a hermit is to to track the perp and sit on your hands?

Nidbanes for only murder would result in no one leaving murder by using the leech workaround or people would just bring rage alts along to deal the killing blow

It's stupid and at that point nidbanes could just as easily be removed from the game which I'm sure the farmer-types would not enjoy at all

As it is now, the person would also die. with this implemented its a step toward at least keeping that poor hermit noob alive. rage alts and leech bug is rly something else that needs fix.

How?

You can already summon a nidbane on a murder scent, changing this changes nothing for keeping the noob alive. In fact, this change would reduce the potential nidbane retaliation to only one bane instead of 2 (murder and battery) which means a person who would have murdered the person under the current system definitely would with the new one :|

ah yes, in the original discussion the fact that if u send nidbane after some1 they die is also in. this isn't in the suggestion because OP obv wanna get away clean.

I just assumed its a strong kick ass nidbane that will kill the killer or injure the killer gravely. If that is what is intended then it's a good idea. If its a weak ass nidbane that does nothing then its obv a bad idea.
