What if Jorb and Loftar made it optional for a world? Access to limited localized resources (salt and icicles and the like) would be open to pvp declared characters (they seem to go crazy for them anyway). Attacking a non pvp character would be impossible but they can be shooed away. A claim can be declared war on and if they do not choose to challenge the declaration (becoming a pvp claim/village) they become vassals of the attacker (a percentage of the experience gained by the vassal is tranfered to the ruler like the current kingdom system heck even a penalty to max lp gain for non full pvp chars). A kingdom would still be needed to access the full benefits of that experience pool once it's available.
Pvp chars would be marked and hosting one in your village (hf and or logged in character) would enable others to behave towards your village as if it was an pvp claim temporarily (get to siege it and the like).
Other than the obvious points of but we like pvp (very few people statistically do it's just concentrated here in the ones still playing), but you can't have a free pvp world because abuse (yeah you fucking can you just have to enforce stuff) and yeah but it will split the playerbase (it's not like there's such a big one if you ignore the alts and the bots and this will let in a lot more larpers and casuals which are good for jorbs and loftars pockets) what else is wrong with it?
