New Building: Greenhouse

A building that takes up a 7x7 area which can load 49 garden pots (the way a wagon loads chests) thatgives a speed bonus to garden pot growables depending on quality. Make it with glass and steel, maybe 1000 glass and 10 steel bars? You could also give it auto-load functionality if you gave it a built in dirt/water load. I think it could be interesting to give glass more of a use than it has right now, and make finding really good sand worthwhile.

This would be a great idea. It takes so much room to be able to walk around all of the garden pots. Having a building that could hold 50+ with auto fill and water would be amazing.

If you wanted to make it a fully fledged building like a house that might work. I was thinking originally that it could work like a stationary wagon that only loads garden pots, but the implementation could be something like a normal house with farmable tiles inside. Maybe you could make tree/plant seeds part of the building requirements and depending on the seed used you could spawn tiles inside, I.E. majority connifer seeds will spawn pinebarren tiles, majority Oak will spawn the oak specific forest, majority carrot would spawn a meadow or grass type biome. It would also be interesting if you could make the building modular, so people could decide how much area they want to have as greenhouse, but I'm not sure how possible that is with the engine. Perhaps it could be constructed as a type of wall, and then have an option to "construct cieling" the way you build gates with palisades/bwalls/fences, which would check the distance between wall A and wall B in a straight line, then any tile between four walls which cannot "build cieling" anymore would get the bonus. I think it would be a bit janky to warp inside a greenhouse and be in the instanced black-zone that normal houses are though. In a house made of glass that would seem pretty out of place.

What I meant what that you could overproduce in the summer with this, to outweigh the winter

please implement something similar to this. atm the garden pots take up too much space, and its very troublesome to fill every single pot with water and dirt

Don't have that many of them then?

My guess would be that pot-able foreagbles are intended to have some hoops to jump through (since requests to reduce the amount of soil in the pots got ignored) in case you want to skip over going out and finding them... so as you're simply asking for an easy way of mass-producing them I think it's somewhat unlikely to be implemented.

Regarding the suggestion to make houses buildable inplace and without pocket dimensions: this is iirc on the todo-list (with no ETA).
