Restoring energy change ideas

Postby NOOBY93 » Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:04 am

Eating food away from a table shouldn't give any stats nor contribute to food variety bonus, but shouldn't hurt hunger and satiations either, only restore energy. Why? Because people are afraid of doing blunt work like terraforming etc. on their main characters in order not to have to destroy their hunger and satiations by having to eat food because of low energy, this encourages alt-spam to do any sort of manual work.

Either this or some other way to restore energy without fucking up your character would be nice. Or just remove energy altogether as it seems to be a very useless system that just encourages alting

I don't dislike this idea, it could work.
Alternatively actually good energy food could be added, something along the lines of 2000 energy for just a bit of hunger, and little to no stats.
Or a hearth magic spell to convert experience into energy.

Nobody would use this tbh, it's way too attractive to simply spawn an alt to do the work. There needs to be a simple, kinda cheap way (food) to restore energy without destroying your character's development potential by fucking up satiations and hunger (before you have endgame drinks and table)

I actually like this idea. Simplest table and chair is so dirt-easy to make that it wouldn't be a problem for newbies as long as the system is properly explained.

Not only shouldn't be a problem for newbies but it would actually encourage newbies to make and improve their tables which is a very common oversight, noobs tend to eat their food without tables

Its not bad
I think it should be implemented

but devs are stupid and never implement things that I want

Another idea:
Eating energy over maximum must give buff. This buff calcutale all excess energy and give it over random time.
For example i ate my energy to full, and 3000% energy more. Over next ~20 minutes 3000% energy will be ready to restore over time, so i can mine, dig, etc, because my tummy is full.

I strongly feel that if you have less than full energy, your hunger should go down much less than normal. If you try to eat when you have a bunch of energy, it should have increased hunger. After a long day of digging, that is when I would eat most.

This would allow you to fill up nicely after some terraforming/mining.

I would like to remind why current hunger/appetite and energy system was implemented. Back in legacy, they were single bat. This meant that people could grind their hunger down, often just botting it.

Just add a food that gives lots of energy but no FEPs and has zero hunger cost. Bread would fit thematically IMO, but I'm not sure if it's available early enough.
