Building Ideas

Postby Vassteel » Wed Dec 06, 2017 10:55 pm

So i was thinking that ide be nice to have a couple new buildings for example

A Barn, Could have multiple tiers, with the animals contained inside pens in the barn lets say 2 animals modeled per pen with the rest stored inside of an inventory kinda like how the coop and hutch operate.

A lumber Mill, Could give a bonus to tree cutting in the radius around the mill take the cut logs to the mill and receive the cut materials q could be effected by the quality of metals to construct the mills sawblade as well and it could damage over time with use thus needing repairs.

A Larder, a small outdoor building type that needs to be dug and provides a better storage for food item stockpiles basically like the grainy but for carrots beets and pumpkins ect.

A Smoke house, Basically a place to cook more types of meats and sausages. fueled by coal and blocks of wood like cherry alder cedar or applewood.

These all sound nice. Would definitely like to see a type of barn implemented.

milking machine is quite a strech cause , The machine was patented by New Zealander Norman John Daysh in 1917 and has been used as model and inspiration for all vacuum-operated milking machines ever since.

but throw that out and chould be quite cool to have here

I'm not against it, but I have to question the wisdom of spending time on specific buildings that could be spent on a freeform building system first.

hell id take a freeform system where we could design layout of houses and save and then even sell those recipes like the building ui in stonehearth. then its just a matter of adding sawblades etc as tools to attach to the design.

Dear Lord this yes, and then just add machines that have specific requirements for the buildings they inhabit and we can make our own (building of a particular industrial function).

The fact that you're seriously talking about a freeform building system makes my day.

Ive got a few more ideas

A very large Stone castle. maybe it would provide Boons to the realm its build in and only 1 per realm? also be extremely resource and time intensive

Also make carts hold stock piles not just cart+wheelbarrow but able to dump the wheelbarrow into the cart.

the game definately needs a few more Longterm goals more cooking recipies would be nice too
