There should be socks that can be made from silk threads which gives you a boost in farming and a gilding slot. You can wear one in the foot slot and the slot parallel to that. If you only wear it in the foot slot you are wearing just one sock and the other foot is bare.

Also socks should make you run 25% faster in forests because you have less cold feet

I don't think socks are a necessary slot. It seems to me like it's just way to brute force more gilds rather than use quality gilds.

Socks are gross. I stopped wearing them in real life all together.
