What's stopping someone from using someone else's name, going on realm chat and spouting offensive things to hurt that person's reputation?

those with authority can ban (and change thier name im not sure) so theres at least that approch
if you see someone bashing your name tell a higher up and get them banned
yea thay can alt it and do it again but at least its something

This will only be a problem if people start using the realm chats, which I haven't really seen so far.
It was an odd choice to have everyone's name revealed though.

What realm do you live in? The chat can get pretty busy in Hedgehugs.

I agree, but it's likely some people would be fooled. Noobs might not figure out that it's possible to fake your identity in chat.

You can do the same on discord ... having been someone who got impersonated I can say that the majority of ppl can quite easily tell the difference ...
