Perhaps the golden method for stat gain.

Before you judge this, read the whole thing
Tie stat gain with quests+ food all stat gain will become +3 for that stat, it could be simple quests like digging a piece of soil, picking a leaf etc, then when your stats get higher like 100+ it becomes like, kill a fox, swan, snake, forage a certain thing etc. Then harder still, 1000+ kill a bear, cook some food with alot of ingredients, such as .. idk, kill a lynx, smelt gold.

Anyways, stat gain would become easy to start, and interactive and interesting, rather than who can bot the most.

also: make the letters funky so bots can't read it. This has been proven to work.

Next: change hunger modifier from food to stat quest completion.
1 Quest= 33% . Once it reaches 200%, you get 3 quests instead of 1 and gotta eat more food
100% = 5 quests and so on. You can abandon a fep quest, but it resets the feps you gained.

This will close the gap between hardcore people and softcore people and nearly removes botting.

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I understand the bot blocker, but can you explain how that stat system would effect a carebear hermit?

For example, a hermit will have a more difficult time for certain actions. Yes the basic things will fly by easily. A village would make the more in-depth ones easier todo. How would you get around the slower progression of the hermit against the power of help a village will provide?

get g00d? If you are a noob hermit, you will never catch up to people who know how to play already. Lots of hermits can do as well as villages, as long as they good.

Any other game where this comes close to already being used this way?

Really don't like the idea. It attaches so many activities solely to increase stats. I think each "feature" of the game should be increased by it's own method, like skill with learning points, stats with food, etc. Bots will be always there, and they will always have some advantage, but, in my opinion, features that benefits "non" bot characters would have an increased impact than it. Things like having the stat balanced should be easier to increase an specific stat, satiation could be reworked to decrease the possibility to just eat the same thing then reset, like sometimes increasing a huge bonus for a random dish when eaten, etc.

Anyway, to keep just on the thread subject. I guess that mixing too many activities to the stat gain are "not fun" or engaging, increasing bonus stat gain as you do different activities could be interesting, at least I feel like, if someone is not bot, it probably do many different activies and this could be something that increase his next dish FEP. Still, don't think this as the greatest solution.

This is stupid.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

Not a fan at all, quests of any type have always felt like a chore to me. More than the other stuff that is also chore-like, I mean.

Also what's it say in that box? I don't get it.
