village aesthetics being ruined by vines

so with the update that included this

"Paved tiles now decay by being overgrown with vines. If decay hits a paved tile, without an active claim, bordering a natural tile, or bordering another tile with vines already on it, vines may start growing over the hit tile. Further decay hits to tiles with vines will cause the vines to grow, until, finally, with the fourth hit, the paving, and the vines growing over it, are removed, decaying to a bordering natural tile. The effect in total being that paving decay of a large paved area starts around the edges and gradually corrodes its way into the center of the area. Suggested plenty, but among other places here."

Most large villages use different styles to create the look they want. They also employee different ways to protect the village and allow people to claim their own areas within such village walls.
In some set-up this would include a space between claimed areas that allow walkways The problem is that the decay factor is now removing such roads\pathways. Since there is no way to have claims border each other there is no way to prevent this.

Is there a way to tweak such decay? maybe allow decay not to factor in up to 5 spaces from edge of such active claims ..

This road is beautiful as it is :O, why would you change that?

Just kidding, it should be a way to clear it, it would be "okay" to keep it once in a while. Or maybe make that lamps on road protect on a radius the vine feature. So, if you built a road with lamps. Make the lamp decay normally without being on a claim so you just need to repair the lamp instead the entire road?

bob dole agrees, 5 tiles away from a claim should not be affected by that kind of decay.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Looks like you don't have a village claim on the walkway.
Should be an easy thing to fix, shouldn't it?

The check would be expensive to run. You can village claim the area.

haha just vclaim like a normal person i hate these bitches spamming claims like this to make siege impossible just fucking use a vclaim X D

I to don't like the way vines have been implemented. They limit what we can or cannot do, and ruin ACTUAL roads, you know roads? Those things that let you run faster when traveling over them? No not that telephone-lines of roadsigns that let you teleport across the map without any decay of their own, but actual paved roads.

New plan, hire vine cleaners, or make it into a nice grass road.
