Death & protective clothing.

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

Death & protective clothing.

Postby maze » Tue Oct 02, 2018 4:10 am

haven and hearth has always been scary when it comes to perma death for new players & veterans.
Even now the KO function is such an awkward, that you don't know if you'll die by mistake or not.

I propose something like a ferrymans ring for being KO'ed. ~ a cape. so that you and everyone can see it.

[Forest Druids Cape]
10 leaves + 2 ropes (to make it easy so that it can be crafted from the moment you get in.)
un-gild-able
While Equipped: Stat bonus from gear is reduced by 25-50%.
On Death: if you were to be KO'ed or die. re spawn at your fire instead (with 1SHP 100HHP). Gain {Druids Curse} can't equip another cape for 1 hour.
Can't be equipped or unequipped during combat.

It's already literally impossible to die with clever use of game mechanics, to the point I'm surprised people aren't more blatantly botting questing. I would argue the ability to die while out and about is functionally opt-in.

Counter suggestion:

Basically any combination of things in this thread.

It's also very easy to kill with clever use of game mechanics. Also~ People just don't kill people randomly as they use to now a days.

Awe yeah I forget to comment on that thread as it makes no sense.
He gave an example to opt-in to [giving more Griv damage and taking more Griv damage.]
This will only help the attacker (unless the defender fights back)
but let put it in this scenario
Fighter with (opt-in) vs random. now is more likely to kill the noob.

if you opt into [deathmode to kill or be killed] and it comes with bonuses. then hardcores will somewhat use it to get ahead.

but my suggestion is make that opt-in a item that forces you to pick gear and to show people that you mean real game or not.

There is no logic between druidic and immortality.
Making a tree grow on the place you died, is more for druid, lol.

Dungeons already have that + there are still people who manage to die regardless of this, especially because of wounds.

Cool suggestion but the cooldown should be at least 8h - 24h (depending if You wanna use in-game days or real ones)

This is an idea to bring back murder to some degree and give those willing to be murdered an edge.
This is not a care ear suggestion at all, lol.

The idea that I was trying to leave was if you get killed you become a pile of leaves and all the gear you have is left in the pile. Then you respawns at your fire again, naked and vanurable.

Not the same suggestion at all. But you clearly don't understand it considering this:

maze wrote:but let put it in this scenario

I literally describe this scenario in the fucking thead:

DDDsDD999 wrote:"Increase grievous damage to players by 5%, but also take 5% more grievous damage."

Basically if a player with the skill fought someone without it, the grievous damage would be the same.

This thread's suggestion is just an item to 100% prevent death. And it's absolutely retarded.
