How about animals getting damages from repeated incest?
would force people to put more effort in animal breeding or trading animals to get new genes.
Right now people are only keeping one male for its suppose, be it meat, milk skin or what ever, then slaughtering all baby male that are worse than that male.

Actually that is pretty good idea!
Should not be that difficult to implement.
Just some penalties to quality at first, and maybe later the calves would be born dead, if they are way too inbred.

First issue: people already can have up to 3-4 different plots, breeding for different purpouses (better milk/q/hides/meat etc.)
Second issue: some people already started to breed for cool colors
Third issue: Baby males/females that aren't pigs, are slaughtered manly and mainly for SUCKLING MAWS.

If anything by that, You are going to make PAINFUL LIFE for many people like me who doesn't want to trade with their animals, who were breed since beginning of the world, the only thing You will achieve here by doing something like this, would force most of players like me to have several big plots just to mix from time to time. So actually those who have several plots for different animal products wouldn't be even touched =)

Agreed, this is a fun idea at first but it undermines the recent texture update I think. After a long period of time of breeding I'm excited to see how everyone has a different strain of cow. Being forced to exchange them would just undo all of that. Plus all the other miserable work involved.

You wouldnt have to exchange them. Having more than 1 bull and not using the same bulls with their children should be enough.

I absolutely support this idea, I've been thinking about it for a while. I feel like it would encourage trading and help mitigate Q creep by requiring more wild blood.

Alright, It might be the last time I post in this thread but I'll be ambitious and do it better than previous times.

Why is it bad:
- Another mechanic that player might have no idea, unless it is too late
- Forcing no-independence on a player unless they...
- ...simulate other player by having second set (assuming that would be enough) of animals...
- ... Which means that player will be forced to double their fodder farm, which might lead to botting / scripting
- OP says baby males dies because simply being worse - which is untrue as baby females also get slaughtered - SUCKLING MAWS
- In summary, player is penaltied for trying to be independent. That should be player choice, not forced out by a mechanic.

Why is it bad from point of trading:
- It will force You to seek out other animals breeders and You will search for better / similar Q of animals
- It might lead to situation where if You're new blood (worst Q), You will have real difficulty of finding a partner since mixing your both, they will lose on it
- People instead of trading will simulate having partner by doubling tedious™ and bots™
- TopQ breeders will avoid trading with each other, because there's rivalry and rat-race who's the best, it means look previous line again
- Trading will only mostly happen between hermits / LARPers / casuals who don't care that much for Q, since they know they won't reach top
- Next world, until market is build, I don't see people traveling far with their animals, traveling with those is a huge pain as it is
- Different coloured cows / future animals, You might break many people tries to have one-colored / cool-colored animals

Why is it good:
- Because You have problem with that and You +1 this
- You think it will help mitigitate Q and trading, in reality it will affect only casual breeders and for rest tedium™


+I'll bet some people would rather tame +10Q shit instead of trading, because if they gonna lose anyway, then why not?
