Dungeon's annoy nearby villages

Postby overtyped » Thu Nov 01, 2018 3:37 am

It would be rather interesting if nearby dungeons create a type of event where in mobs of that dungeon will make periodic trips to all nearby villages, and if you are on your claim, there will be a small timer on the top right, that says " time until dungeon invasion" or something like that.
If there is crops, they will eat some, and basically be an annoyance. If they eat crops off a claim, it will also create a scent. If you have walls, the beasts will damage 1/5 of them, and can even destroy them over time, but they will focus undamaged walls.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I really like the idea of dungeons sending out NPC raiding parties on nearby villages. It draws attention to unnoticed dungeons, and encourages people to deal with them one way or another. Either themselves or with outside assistance.

Not sure about the walls bit though. Maybe I just palisade off a batcave near your village to have frequent NPC wall damaging raids?

This isn't a terrible idea, but it would take some serious time and consideration before it could even come close to being implemented. I like the idea of crop damage and the like in particular.

I would rather Hatewing's minions than some ugly humanoids.

Also if the dungeon is inside the village, do we own them and they raid OTHER nearby village?

But OT, i love that idea i remember an old game seven kingdoms where the frythans (monsters) would come out from their bases and attack bases around the map and even establish new dungeons if you didnt take care of them. Would stop those that have bat dungeons just sit in there base and actually hire or ask for help to remove them before it festers and they get attacked.

They don't really harm you though that's why you aren't hiring people to deal with it.

Some people are afraid of going inside just because they can get ganked there ;3

But people do hire people to get rid of Trolls so, Trolls stealing coal* when?!
