One-way gates no longer needed

Title.

Opinions? Since the addition of the visitor flag, I see more than a few bases are just leaving gates open.

I'm confused, are you proposing slave keys work on gates no matter what direction they're facing?

he of course means that gates should open in some other direction than front!

Yeah, go back to the old method (ie legacy). The one-way thing was a security request a long time ago before the visitor flag was added. It was a nice addition so people finding or stealing keys couldn't just waltz in and steal or destroy everything. I don't think one-way gates are needed anymore. However, I also don't manage a large village or some place like Community Fair, so I thought getting opinions on it might be a good thing for the devs to read.

I should note that, honestly, I just carry a copy of a master on me and keep one secured away in case I ever need to change locks in a hurry. I'd rather not carry the master key, due to being able to copy it, but the slave keys are too much of a pain. You have to go to an airlock system of 2 or 3 gates to ensure you can come and go without others being able to unlock your gates (or just key alts). Granted, airlocks aren't difficult to build, just an annoyance.

I'm really not a fan of the idea, but I can't really articulate off the top of my head what issues this would cause. My gut feeling is just that one way gates do more good than harm.

Should just have a key that can open gates from both sides, but can't change the lock. No reason to change this system.

A fair compromise I suppose, mostly my concern is slave keys being dangerous to carry once again. We go back to the dark ages where a villager getting KO'd and looted meant changing every lock and handing out new keys.

There was a concern some time ago, that given gates open an abuser can drive fleeing animal (e.g. bear) toward the inner yard for some damage. Also some claim that it's possible to get rid of visitors' debuff while inside. So I'd keep mine closed.
